Treasurer celebrates Saddlewood reopening after rehab
State
Treasurer Sarah Steelman joined Sedalia Mayor Robert Wasson to
reopen the newly rehabilitated Saddlewood Apartments at 3201 W.
10th St. in Sedalia Aug. 18. Treasurer Steelman also serves as
chairman of the Missouri Housing Development Commission (MHDC).
Missouri
Housing Partners, based in Columbia, rehabilitated the 32
one-bedroom units in the complex with MHDC financing. MHDC
financing includes $1.4 million in construction loan financing,
a $969,262 federal HOME loan and $155,504 in federal and state
Rental Housing Tax Credits.
The MHDC
Rental Housing Production and Preservation Program provides
funding to developers for the acquisition and rehabilitation or
new construction of rental housing for low and moderate income
families. The MHDC funds are typically combined with Low Income
Housing Tax Credits to fund affordable multifamily housing
developments.
The
Commission includes the governor, lieutenant governor, attorney
general, treasurer and six persons appointed by the governor
with the advice and consent of the Senate.
