Homeless
program application training set for April 12-13
The
Governor’s Committee to end Homelessness will conduct a
Continuum of Care Technical Assistance Workshop in Jefferson
City April 12-13. The Continuum of Care (CoC) is one of the
competitive grants available from the U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development. The CoC focuses on assisting homeless
persons to move to self-sufficiency and permanent housing.
Agencies can apply for permanent housing for people with
disabilities or transitional housing and services as part of
this program
The
two-day training is mandatory for all organizations planning to
submit applications under the Missouri Continuum of Care
(sometimes referred to as Balance of State CoC). The training is
being conducted in cooperation with Missouri Housing Development
Commission and the Missouri Department of Mental Heath.
The workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 12 and 9 a.m. to 2
p.m., April 13, in Room 510, Harry S Truman Building, 301 West
High Street, Jefferson City.
Lunch will be provided April 12.
The
training facilitators are Liz Hagar-Mace, Department of Mental
Health and Heather Bradley-Geary, Missouri Housing Development
Commission. The training explains the application process
under the Missouri Continuum of Care Program. The agenda will
cover the Supportive Housing Program (SHP) application process,
leveraging, explanation of the proposal review process, how to
complete the application, cash match, developing the budget and
HMIS participation. The facilitators will also be available for
technical assistance. Supportive Housing Program (SHP)
Application Forms will be available for you to take back to your
office to complete.
