Release No. 98-05-07
May 28, 1998
[Kansas City] The Missouri Housing Development Commission made a significant policy change to the maximum income limits for their programs during their regular monthly meeting May 21, 1998 in Jefferson City.
The policy previously established the income limits for MHDC-controlled programs as 150 percent of the statewide median income. A vote by the Commission added that the income limit could also be "150 percent of the median income of the Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area, whichever was higher."
"This change allows for a greater mix of incomes in some of our central city developments," said Richard Grose, MHDC executive director. The original policy was approved by the commission Jan. 17, 1997.
MHDC is the state's housing finance agency. The mission of MHDC is "to provide safe, quality, affordable housing to low and moderate income citizens of Missouri." More information about MHDC is available by writing to MHDC at 3435 Broadway, Kansas City, Missouri or on the web site at http://www.mhdc.com.
