MHDC administers rental housing production programs including the federal and state low income housing tax credits. Rental production programs also consist of MHDC fund balances and federal "HOME" funds. At least 10 percent of HOME funds are set aside for Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDO).

At the public hearing, MHDC staff will describe the developments under consideration, field inquiries regarding the developments and accept and record public comments. People interested in attending the hearing may submit verbal or written comments. In addition, written comments may be submitted to the Missouri Housing Development Commission, 3435 Broadway, Kansas City, MO 64111, or through the office of the mayor or chief elected official of the locality in which the development is located.

The Commission will consider funding recommendations during its regularly scheduled 10 a.m., Dec. 15 meeting. The meeting will be held in the Marriott Downtown, 200 W. 12th Street, Kansas City, Missouri.

MHDC received 125 development proposals for the development or rehabilitation of affordable rental housing (three incomplete applications were returned).
