Commission elects new officers during May meeting

The Missouri Housing Development Commission unanimously elected Gary D. Collins of Jefferson City as their new Chairman during MHDC’s Annual Meeting held May 18 in Jefferson City.  They also elected State Treasurer Nancy Farmer as Vice Chairman and John Wilson as Secretary/Treasurer.

Collins, an official at Exchange Bank in Jefferson City, succeeds William H. Creech who served four one-year terms as Chairman beginning in May 1997.  He was first elected chairman in May 1997.  Collins has been a member of the Commission since March 2001.

State Treasurer Farmer fills a position that had remained open since then Gov. Roger Wilson completed his term on the board.  She became a member of the Commission when she assumed her duties as State Treasurer in January.

John Wilson with PAR Electrical Contractors of Kansas City has served as a commissioner since September 1998.  He replaces Charles Braithwait as Secretary/Treasurer.  Braithwait remains on the Commission.

MHDC is the state’s housing finance agency. The mission of MHDC is to provide safe, quality, affordable housing to low and moderate-income citizens of Missouri.  The Commission, by law, includes the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Treasurer and Attorney General.  It also has six public positions.
