Commission expected to make affordable housing funding decisions Friday

 

KANSAS CITY – The Missouri Housing Development Commission is scheduled to review staff recommendations for proposed affordable housing developments during its Jan. 18 meeting in Kansas City.

MHDC administers rental housing production programs including the federal and state low income housing tax credits. Funds for rental production programs also consist of MHDC fund balances and federal "HOME" funds. At least 10 percent of HOME funds are set aside for Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDO).

 

Staff has been reviewing 129 recommendations submitted in October 2001 proposing developments in the following cities (numbers indicate multiple proposals for those locations):

Staff categorizes the proposals in the following manner for consideration by the Commission:

bullet Recommend Funding – those to receive 2002 funding upon approval of the Commission;
bullet· Would Have recommended Funding – a prioritized list of developments that would have received funding if further funding was available;
bullet· Fundable – developments that met all the criteria for funding
bullet· Not Recommended – developments that would not receive funding and did not meet all criteria

The results of the meeting will be published on the MHDC web site late Friday afternoon.
