Two new houses provide
affordable housing in Neosho
Neosho, Missouri -- The Economic Security Corporation of the Southwest
Area and its Housing Division opened two new homes at 1404 and 1410
Sally Ann Street in Neosho on April 23 that were funded by Missouri
Housing Development Commission.
The two three-bedroom/two bath homes were funded through a $196,200
federal HOME fund grant and providing affordable housing where two
previously vacant lots were located. EOC-SA also received a $20,000 HOME
CHDO operating grant.
“We are pleased that this type of in-fill development sparks more
interest in neighborhoods,” said Erica Dobreff.
The rental properties have already influenced local development. The
builder has already built a similar home at market-rate for a buyer who
liked the layout and look of the house. This has further influenced the
builder to build a similar model home to begin marketing the additional
currently vacant lots in this neighborhood.
