Commission
reconfirms officers during Annual Meeting
The reconfirmation of officers and the swearing in of a new commissioner
highlighted the Missouri Housing Development Commission Annual Meeting
May 24. Gov. Bob Holden, servicing as chair of the Nomination Committee
said, “The great work that our officers have done this year led us to
ask them to stay on for another year.”
Gary D. Collins of Jefferson City will continue serving as MHDC Chairman
with State Treasurer Nancy Farmer serving as Vice Chair. John R. Wilson
of Kansas City will continue serving as Secretary, Treasurer.
Rev. Dr. Ronald L. Bob, Sr., was sworn in as the newest commissioner at
the meeting. Rev. Bobo is pastor and evangelist at the West Side
Missionary Baptist Church in St. Louis.
By Missouri statute,
the commission consists of the governor, lieutenant governor, the state
treasurer, the state attorney general, and six members to be selected by
the governor, with the advice and consent of the senate.
Remaining Commission members include Attorney General Jay Nixon, William
H. Creech, Jr. of Troy, Anne B. Schmidt of Florrisant and Dwayne A.
Crompton of Kansas City.
The Missouri Housing Development Commission was established by the 75th
General Assembly in 1969. Since that time, MHDC has encouraged and
assisted in the production of affordable rental housing and provided
homeownership opportunities for thousands of families. MHDC does not
build or renovate housing itself; rather, it functions as a bank,
providing financing directly to borrowers or through a network of
private lending institutions. Most of MHDC's programs operate as a
public-private partnership.
