Opening celebrates re-opening of senior apartments in Clinton
Local dignitaries and residents joined the development group of
KP Partners, The Craigmont Corporation and William Young for a
special ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the
newly renovated Kenton Place apartments at 1101 Ohio in Clinton
Dec. 9. The 71-unit senior apartment complex has been
rehabilitated through Missouri Housing Development Commission
(MHDC) financing. The complex, rehabbed by CP Developers,
includes 71 one-bedroom units renting for $378 per month.
MHDC financing includes a $1.2 million MHDC loan at 1 percent
for 20 years and $250,000 in federal and state Rental Housing
Tax Credits. KP Partners was the Contractor for the rehab work
and Hedeen Architects did the design work. The apartments are
being managed by Young Management Corporation.
MHDC is the state's housing finance agency. The Commission is
dedicated to strengthening communities and the lives of
Missourians through the financing, development and preservation
of affordable housing.
The Commission was established to provide affordable housing to
Missourians with lower incomes, but it also offers opportunities
that assist people to become self-sufficient. By creating jobs,
involving communities, eliminating barriers, and enabling
Missouri residents with low and moderate incomes -- especially
those in distressed areas -- to become more independent, MHDC is
helping to make Missouri a better place to live.
