For the past three years, MHDC’s Homeownership Department has operated a rural home repair program using federal HOME funds. The program operates through a network of experienced local home repair providers. Each of these organizations has experienced staff and longstanding home repair programs for low-income families in Missouri.

HeRO funds can be used for repairing owner-occupied structures in non-metro areas. The maximum income for participants in any Missouri county is usually between $35,500 and $51,600 for a family of four. Participating agencies can provide more information about the income limits. Eligible homeowners may receive cash assistance up to $20,000 for repairs.
