6-15 UPDATE:  IRS LIHTC waiver announced.

Current Status:

6/15/11 - The Internal Revenue Service through Notice 2011-47 has granted MHDC a waiver release to suspend certain requirements under Section 42 of the IRC for all 9% low income housing projects in Missouri. Effective immediately, MHDC may now provide approval to project owners to provide temporary emergency housing for displaced individuals. Specifically, the IRS is suspending income limitations for housing projects that, after approval from MHDC, rent on a temporary basis to displaced individuals. The displaced individual must have resided in specific counties designated for Individual Assistance by FEMA as a result of the severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes in these counties beginning on April 19, 2011. The period of temporary housing extends until June, 2012.
